Candied Chilli Peanuts

A great little treat for after dinner or a cheeky snack. Vegan.

Ingredients:

  • Peanuts, 300g

  • White Sugar, 200g

  • Water, 100ml

  • Hot Sauce (Caprica Chilli Sauce), 1tbs

Method

  1. Dissolve sugar in the water in a pan or wok on low heat.

  2. Once the sugar has melted creating a thick gelatinous gloop stir in the peanuts.

  3. Stir constantly adjusting the heat as you go, if it gets too hot the sugar will burn, caramelise, and turn to a hard toffee.

  4. After 10 or 15 minutes the sugar and nuts should be somewhat powdery, add a splash of hot sauce and stir through.

  5. Rest and eat.
